Re: How can I get a job offer any advice(software developer)
My husband googled suitable companies and sent them his cv. No interest from any of them until he booked a flight to NZ, at which time he arranged interviews (about 10 in one week). When we arrived he had those interviews, cold called a few other companies and got a positive response from most companies. Was offered a job the week after we got back to the UK. He has been in NZ 10 weeks now and loves it, we join him next week. Don't think it would have happened if he hadn't made the effort to go out.

Kentishgirl's experience seems to be quite common [on here!]
Employers do not always want to consider those without a visa and outside NZ, however that can vary from occupation to occupation and skill levels.
Are you likely to get a resident visa without a job offer? Has your EOI been selected? If you have enough points it can be possible to get a resident visa without a job offer. This does at least reassure possible employers that you have a visa allowing you to work.
I didn't even try applying from abroad. However my profession is one where you would want to visit the workplace first as they can vary a lot. All the jobs I've had in NZ have been gained from sending out my CV to all possible employers in the area rather than from applying to a job vacancy.
