Default French Teacher - what are my chances?

Hi!

A friend of mine has recently emmigrated to NZ and is loving it. I have lived abroad before (France, Germany, Canada) and really want to experience life down under for at least a few years.

I am a secondary teacher (French and German) and wondered what my chances are for finding employment?

I know German is hardly taught out there, but there do seem to be a fair few French jobs going. What do you guys think? Will competition be stiff?

I have a BA (Hons), a PGCE and a MEd, so should get through on points. If not, would WHV be a possibility given my age (25)?

Also, when do schools hire? If I finished in the UK in July, do you think I could get a job by the start of the school year in NZ for Jan/Feb?

There are loads of questions here - so thanks in advance if you can answer any of them!
