French Pass anyone?

French Pass anyone?
We're thinking we may make a trip to French Pass. Any one been there ? I'm thinking some of the Marlborough posse may be in the know as they are closest.
How is the road and how much of it is there. I can only take so much unmade , pitted winding road.
What sort of accom is available. I can only find a DOC campsite and some swish looking beachfront units.
Could we possibly get there by a water taxi at all.
All help & info. gratefully received. Karma will be dispensed.

Hi Bev
Just asked OH, who's a Nelson local, about French Pass and he says that he's been there and it's very nice. Unfortunately, for you maybe, the road is a gravel one. He's not sure about getting a water taxi there but says you'd probably be able to hire a boat if you fancied doing it yourself. He also says that he thinks there would be accommodation there but that's all I got out of him (he's reading the paper atm and is fairly engrossed in it!!!)
Not really sure if I've helped much on this one, sorry!
OH also said he's going to take me there for a day soon so I'd be interested in hearing about it from you please.

No problem.
Yep, we are - on top of one of the hills looking out towards Nelson and the sea. It's stunningly beautiful and peaceful! We've only been living here for a couple of months, although OH has lived in Nelson for years.

Brill
We looked at some sections up 88 Valley, over at Wakefield .
I'm sure it is extremely peaceful.
Sandi Bloss is suggesting a bit of a meet up on Rabbit Island one weekend afternoon. Perhaps see you there.
