Football In Auckland
Hello all!
Coming over to Auckand in Aug '08.
Are there any pubs in Auckland which ex-brits congregate in to watch the Premiership football?

I arrived as the season was coming to a close, so I'm not sure, the main problem's the time difference of course - a 3 o'clock k.o is the middle of the night here.

Are there any re-runs on telly in the afternoon/nighttime.
Would love to get involved in pub banter about a sport which I can understand.
Rugby - not my cup of tea (don't tell the kiwi's please!)

It's difficult to avoid rugby here, it's in all the papers - often the editorials too, plus top news on tv, though they do go abit quiet in the latter when the All Blacks lose like they did against SA at the weekend!

Now I don't think the Kiwis will be watching the AB's anymore either, they are attacking them left right and centre, not a very supportive nation I must add, if they are down they will moan and groan about it!
I am currently the VP of the Rangers Supporters Club and we meet and watch live links off football and upto date DVD which are sent over.
We meet every month or sometimes more when there is a big game on. There are many Supporters clubs here.
We meet in a Pub Called the Paddington Bar in Parnell, I believe the Chelsea Supporters club also meet there.
You can get football on Sky and Setanta also.
Membership of these clubs is very reasonable we only charge $10 per season.
We have lots of guys and girls who just want to see football who are members and support other teams.
