Default flying with a broken arm

One week to go before we set off for New Zealand and our eldest daughter has broken her arm!!! :scared: In fact we have to go to Edinburgh Sick Kids to see the orthopaedic surgeons tomorrow..the question I have is do you think there will be any problems with the flight? ie could they stop us travelling??Please if anyone has any advice or has been in a similar situation let us have it..!!

In a word, Yes, this could be a problem.!!!!
Our 20 month old as he was at the time, broke his arm by falling out of his cot as we were about to travel....and we were advised not to fly...this was back in 2003. But we saw another surgeon, and he was happy to cut the cast all the way along it, and then gave us some Velcro to hold it all together until we got out here,
We then went to the Starship in Auckland who were very helpful, and re-set it into a new cast and arranged further follow up appointments.

I would say it would depend on what sort of Brake your child has, because our son was so young it was a greenstick fracture ( or something like that) so that wasn't as bad as a complete brake.....anyway, hope that helps, as far as the airline was concerned, we didnt tell them shhhhh, and nobody asked questions....
