Flights booked

Well we have finally booked the flights we fly out 24th March to Christchurch got lots of things still to sort out, but now it is real and happening . Looking for a rental hopefully furnished for a few weeks till furniture arrives, then a more permenant rental whilst we find our dream home. Gonna have to get a car aswell... see still much to do and that all important journey north to say our farewells to firends and family, this part we are not looking forward to.
So life is exciting but at the same time seeming unreal as not long to go before we head off from the UK 47 days... eek... but we both feel greatttttt.
Steve and Dee.

Re: Flights booked

Thanks Nick, so do we. We have just arranged to go up north to say farewell to family and friends last night for the end of the month this is the thing dreaded the most. The younger ones we expect will come out for a holiday, but those older ones with ill health we don't expect to make the long journey which does make this visit up north more poignant and upsetting.
But these things have to be done and all there are loads of us all going through or about to go through the same experience so it doesn't make us any different but talking on here sometimes does put things into perspective more, especially when you get positive responses and know are others feel the same.
So heads up everyone grit those teeth and remember the reason you are doing all this....... well it might help a little....
Steve and Dee.
Sorry for rambling.

cogratulations on booking the flights

it's quite scary but exciting isn't it? We fly next Saturday (only 8 more sleeps!) and we're nowhere near ready!!! O well, it'll all come together in the end...she'll be right...as they say in NZ...I've been practising! :p

Just make sure you get as much sorted early on as possible, as time just seems to run away as you get nearer to leaving!

Good luck x

Hi Simonmarkellis
Not sure how to say that but thanks for the warm greeting we have been looking at a site which has Maori words and pronounciation (actually someone on video say it ) so been trying hard here to get something right. Kia Ora Kutu Konau I think thats right (hello to you all)

Husband says that a good Autumn is expected.

Must say I have gone off the snow around here a bit. Was novel for a couple of days and that's it.
