The flights are booked.................
The flights are booked for oct 17th 2007. We land in Auckland at 23.30.(I need to book a hotel near the airport, any recommendations????) Car hire is booked for 3 weeks and we are making our way down to Chch, stopping at motels, farms and anywhere else we find which is suitable!! WE CAN`T WAIT.
Job searchin` is ongoing, got a couple of interviews in wellington and chch whilst we are there , so fingers crossed.
EOI is completed but not submitted we are waiting for a job offer before submitting, don`t know if this is the right thing to do or not
But hey we are on our way to NZ. Would like to hear of some places to visit on our travels. cheers.

Ohhhhhhhh how exciting for you i bet you cant wait.......
Im in the South island so will recomend that you visit Kaikoura which is kind of between Picton and Christchurch on the East Coast this is where the Whale watching is.if you are driving get your passnger to keep a look out just before Kaikoura as there are loads of seals that sun themselves on the rocks on the side of the road its quite a spectacular drive. http://www.kaikoura.co.nz/
Are you taking your car on the ferry from the North Island to the South (some car rental companies allow this and some dont or are you dropping one off in Wellington and picking another up in Picton) www.interislander.co.nz
Just out of Christchurch is Akaroa which is a very cute french settlement.

You can take a train journey from Chrischurch to the West Coast (you canalso do christchurch to kaikoura http://www.tranzalpine.co.nz/ and pick a rental car up in Greymouth and do a drive down to the Glaciers which i highly reccomend if the weather is good http://www.explorefranzjosef.com/exploreFranz.asp
Hope that little bit helps have a great day, Cheers Cally

You could submit your EOI if you have enough points anway. Getting a job can then be added and the visa process then is fast tracked. We submitted EOI and obtained jobs before receiving ITA. We faxed the job confirmations to the immigartion and they then prioritised us accordingly.
Good luck.
