Wink flights

Happy new year to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we are looking into flights for may, and are comparing air new zealand and quantas.

we have 2 very hungry kids. plus hubby!!!! and feel we need food for comfort!!

quantas looks better as its british airways to sydney, then quantas to auckland, and they provide meals etc.....

but air new zealand dont appear to provide more than 1 meal for the whole flight.

also in flight entertainment, both look good. but apparently not all boeing 777 have the entertainment systems yet...

has anyone got any advice on how much the food and drink is on the air new zealand flights? and what the services are like on these or any other flights?

we are just trying to make the journey as bearable as possible

thanks very much.

Anna

Hi Anna

We flew with Air New Zealand last May via Hong kong, the service we received was fine, we had 3 full meals on the flight as well as unlimited snacks, hopefully we will be flying this May one way only to NZ

Hi
We've also used Air NZ (Via HK), thought they were brilliant, food was good, NZ wine, snacks and water when needed, all free, excellent entertainment and friendly cabin crew.
Have also gone to NZ using Malaysia Airlines (via Langkawi & KL) also very good but food choices sometimes a bit difficult ...curry for breakfast not my choice Excellent cabin crew tho.
Booked to fly with Air NZ (via LA) on 30th .... wouldn't touch Quantas personally, heard to many stories about rude, couldn't care less cabin crew.

enjoy the planning!!

The food is pretty good on most flights now as this is the basis a lot of people choose on as prices are fairly similar, I can recomend Singapore airlines for the food

I don't think you'll go hungry whichever class you are travelling. We've done Singapore Airlines & Cathay Pacific and the catering was just fine. Singapore Airlines had the edge with Gordon Ramsay recipes and better in-flight entertainment.

(Btw, we used to live in Norwich )

We were in Eaton (and still have a house there) but moved here 2 years ago after a month's reccie in April 2007. I saw somewhere you lived near Aylsham - I lived there for a while too.

This website is a great place for help, or PM me if you need anything in particular.

We also flew with Emirates
Couldnt fault the food and plenty of it! We were served snacks in between main meals too.
In flight entertainment was excellent as everybody gets an individual tv and remote set in the seat in front. Kids were kept entertained throughout the flight, films, cartoons, games etc...
You also get 30kg baggage allowance.
Wouldnt think twice about flying Emirates again.

Forget Qantas and BA - they are substandard airlines.

Air NZ, in my opinion, is one of the best out there, you won't go wrong with them.
