Hi there.

You need to have NZ residency to be eligible to apply to the NZ fire service.

They do , however, operate an exchange scheme if you were interested in coming out for a while.

Overseas Applicants

The New Zealand Fire Service requires all applicants for paid fire fighter positions to hold permanent residency before submitting a job application. Due to the large number of applicants from within New Zealand, the Fire Service does not sponsor overseas applicants. At this point there is no procedure to recognise prior learning from other fire services in terms of lateral entry or progression.
The New Zealand Fire Service does participate in the International Firefighter exchange programme

you'll find it quite different to the UK.....a lot less pay and way more to do. plus for some reason they hardly ever advertise as there is a waiting list to get on as a paid fire fighter.....but best of luck
