Default Family Tax Credits

Hello

If you have PR, are you entitled to Family Tax Credits after a certain time in NZ, or as immigrants are you not entitled at all??

Cheers Jads

I agree that WINZ can be a little slow, but the IRD are pretty quick and can change information over the phone once your initial details are with them - which they should be if you have an IRD number.

This calculator is to work out your WFTC

To claim the family benefit all members of the household must have an IRD number. That's why.

Is that true for childcare subsidy or just for Working Family Tax Credits?
Might explain why our application is in limbo-land

I think it is for the latter. It was a couple of years ago when we applied for the Working For Families Tax Credits and the online application requested IRD numbers for all household members. I think that is how it worked. At any rate, no harm in getting your sprogs an IRD number. It's easy enough.
