Extra baggage Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand are now charging a fixed amount for extra bags. Not sure if it applies if you just turn up, or if only for pre-paid. Ex UK it is 100 pounds for 1st bag and 150 for 2nd.

I saw that and suddenly thought OMG!! checked their website, yes it is going up, but not for flights booked before a certain date - thank goodness!!
i think even though the pre paying of excess baggage will still work out dearer but i will call them tomorrow anyway.

You still get your free baggage allowance - this is for any extra bags.

If you booked your flights before 21st November it's £70 for the first bag of excess baggage and then £120 for the second one. I'm not sure what it is if you booked after 21st November.
It appears to be the same price whether you book it in advance or at check-in, however I have just pre-paid three bags of excess baggage for myself and my husband as I wanted to make sure it would go on the flight with us, rather than checking in and finding out there's not enough space on the aircraft.
