Hi all, been reports of large explosion(s) in Hemel Hempstead. Tune in if you've got Sky News. We haven't. Looks big. Nothing on news here at mo though. Ring home if you have family. :scared:

It's at the fuel depot. No need to "ring home" unless you have friends/people working there or close by.

Police are saying it was an accident.

Casualties are 'minimal'. looks awful, but a fire at a fuel depot is gonna look horrific and burn for days.

Good luck to everyone working and living there.

Just been on the webcam to my parents - they live 20 miles north of HH - luckily the wind is blowing south!! They were woken up by the explosion - my dad thought it was the central heating exploding!

God it looks nasty though.... 3 days to put it out..... the car muppets are already queuing up and panic buying petrol!!

thanks - yeah been watching the streaming coverage on news24 - i was just curious to see what it looked like from central london.....

I live in west london near heathrow and i heard it. Thought it was an aircraft or something, big bang and the window shook... that must have been one hell of a bang nearer to the depot.... :scared:
