I'm wondering as a single expat what the situation is with other expats who come out here?

All I seem to hear out on these forums are the married or partnered expats.
Have all the singletons been swallowed up? :O

This is cool and everything as I've married friends but I think if I was out in NZ moving around and job hunting it'd be reassuring to know that there were other single folk out there in the same boat so to speak.

People with partners tend to mention their partners a lot. People without don't generally feel the need to mention the lack. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence and all that.

I doubt it's the case but I suppose it's just possible that the singletons are all out having fun; and most of the posters on here are a skewed cross-section of 'married with kids' surfing the net because we are in effect stuck in babysitting the kids
