excess baggage allowance
Hello lovely people. ..
I am in the process of applying to emmigrate with my partner and started to look at logistics such as shipping. We will be renting when we arrive (not sure of destination yet as early days), hopefully a furnished apartment as we don't have any furniture to ship as currently rent a furnished flat in Cardiff. We plan to ship other homewear and stuff but i am curious about a rumour I've heard about airline baggage allowances for immigrants. I've heard some airlines give you more than the standard 20 - 30k if you haveworking visa, at a low cost/maybe even free? Does anyone know I this is true? If so any pointers on how to get the extra allowance? Such as what airline or booking agent.
The idea of living on 1 suitcase of clothes and stuff whilst waiting for my items to arrive by ship worries me a bit,
thanks :-) clare

With a resident visa we got 45kg through emirates as we opened an ANZ account prior to leaving. However only hubby got to use as I didn't directly fly to NZ
