The everythings great in NZ thread

I have started the The negative New Zealand thread thread so to balance it.... lets hear all the positives.

Rules: Absolutely NO negatives please (because everything is Hunky-Dorey in New Zealand :D )

Thou we're not there yet, what I remember 14 mumble years ago is

Laid back lifestyle (no stress)
Friendly people (everyone talks to you)
The weather (even winter is warmer there than here)
The beaches (say no more)
Bluff oysters, paua, whitebait, crayfish and L&P (yum yum)

just to name a few

Cheers
Dirk

What are L&P, Dirk+Kerry ? I'm intrigued. I guess you will not find them on Redcar beach (I'm expat Teessider or tees valley)
I am just expecting NZ to be a safe, happy place to bring up my kids, where we can afford a small house with garden instead of an appartment !

L&P is Lemon and Paeroa, a soft fizzy drink made in Paeroa, in the North Island. I quite like it myself.

Some of NZ is like this. Some of the Uk is like this too. It depends where you live. NZ does have all the crime that any westernized country has, it is not crime free by any means.

Yes. Property in general is better value. However it's not as well built, and doesn't last as long. A 30 year old house is considered to be old.
