Don't know if this has been mooted before but I was luckily enough to receive the "Auckland Entertainment Book/Gold Card" a while ago - it has saved us a fortune.. from going to the Skytower to Restaurants to getting the car serviced etc etc - particually newer arrivals may not be aware of it.. it has paid for itself 10 fold at the moment - cost $65 and lasts a year

Last years was great - saved us loads but this year the offers are a bit more restricted and less generous

We got the Christchurch one used it twice and got the book value back

I get one most years.
We saved the price in a weekend one year (went bowling, took rellies to lunch,movies etc )

I went halves on one this year with my MIL. Even better value.
You only need to go out to dinner a couple of times and you make your money back. Plus you get to try new places. Brilliant
