Default Employment agencies in NZ

found out last night that by law in NZ the employment agencies have to ask you if they can put your CV forward to a company so have to give you the name of the company and get your approval before they can submit your CV. Being in the UK and forwarding my CVs to agents in NZ and being told that yes they where putting me forward for jobs just wasn't true in most circumstances as only one of them actually asked and gave me the company name. Feel like a complete waste of 6wks, believing agents where putting me forward when they weren't.
So please be aware if you are job hunting from a different country and you think the agents are putting you forward but not asked permission to forward cv and given the company name they probably aren't.
