Employer not based in New Zealand?
Hey Lady and Gents
I'm a Danish citizen in the progress of applying for NZ P.R.
My ITA was submitted on 01 July 05.
I'm working as a officer in the Merchant Navy for an american shipping company which have offered to keep my employment when I move to NZ.
Based on letter received from the London office I understand my application is considered "without job offer" as my employer is not based in NZ. That's fair enough, but I was kind of hoping that in terms of processing times I wouldn't have to wait up till 5-6 months for a decision.
It seems odd if I have to quit my well paid job to find a job with one of the very few New Zealand Shipping companies?
Anyway does anyone out there have experience with having a skilled employment but based overseas? especially in terms of processing times etc.???
Thanks - great site

can't offer any advice re overseas employment [B]but our application was without any job offer and we didn't wait 5-6months - our ITA was submitted end Mar and we had a decision mid May, so your timescale may not be that long after all.

Hey Guys
Thanks for your kind response. Good to hear that my timescale might be off. Now I can just sit down, enjoy the rest of our north european summer, and wait for the outcome...
Cheers from Denmark - The Old Wiking Land!
