Question email address

Hi all,

I have got an AOL email address at the moment & would like to keep it...would that be possible?
Do you have AOL down there?
Would it be easy to keep my own email address or would I be better off just getting a new one when we arrive?

I'd say check with AOL whether you could keep your email anyway. I have a BT email which I want to keep and they certainly don't have BT over there! But I haven't actually had a BT account for over a year now and they let me keep the email address for a while. Now I have to pay a little every month for the privilege of their email services but as far as I'm concerened it's worth it not to have to change my email address and risk losing contact with some people. Check with AOL and try explaining that if it weren't for the fact you were moving abroad then you wouldn't even think of changing providers etc!!! You can but ask.

You can keep your aol email address without keeping your AOL account. I did the same thing when I moved to Canada. All you need to do is call AOL and let them know. What they might do, is cancel your email account and then you sign up for a free one on their website using the same email address etc.....It won't be a problem......

I registered my own domain (clubley . org) so I never have to change my email address again!

Googlemail is fully transportable and has the advantages that you get zero spam and if your laptop harddrive crashes, you can still view your mail on their website.
Also do my blog through it.
Getting an email address you can keep for life is a real benefit if you tend to move around a lot.
