Talking Electrical Engineer Power Industry Advice

Hi All,

I was looking to seek advice from other electrical engineers that have made the jump from UK to NZ. In particular I was wondering what is the best way to go about getting my qualifications recognised. For instance should I use NZQA or IPENZ to assess them?

I was also wondering if anyone had any advice on websites to use when searching for jobs in the power/energy sector? Most seem to require a visa before I can apply, does this seem right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

David.

Found this on the IPENZ website: http://www.ipenz.org.nz/registration...s-Engineer.cfm

In terms of websites, there's always seek, or from there I've had success contacting the recruiters whose advertisements are on the seek ads and working with one to find a role. Players in the power/energy sector would be outfits like, Vector, Transfield Services/Transfield Worley... can't think of any more at the moment but I'm sure they're out there (I'm a civ eng). Cheers.
