Hope someone might be able to correct me on that though.
What about your work?

hubby is a gasfitter and plumber, which seems to be on their list of skill shortages, so we are pursuing that route. as for myself i'm a learning supprt assistant for mainstream and special needs a children. i have 3 a'levels a nd british sign language stage 2 but these hold no value in our quest to obtain a visa. i'd better not divorce him eh!

She'll be fine with it but will go through "Kevin the Teenager" routine no doubt!
My hubby's a kiwi, moved back to UK when he was 7, finally decided now is the time to return! Thank God! Can't stand it here in the UK - especially where we live! So I have to go through all the same processes as anyone else but it's only for me - I'm applying for residency and the kids get citizenship by descent. Another reason to go - then they'll have UK and NZ passports which opens up Australia and Europe for them - pretty much covers it!
How far on are you with your application?

Be consistent in your positive attitude to immigration and hopefully she will eventually come round!

[QUOTE=terri-f]alice will be 14 on 25 aug she is one of the youngest in her year group . my 18yr son is reluctant to go so i'm wondering wether to get him settled in uni in uk in oct 07 before we go out to nz. my 20yr old is in her last year of uni so is self sufficient anyway and is encouraging us to emmigrate.
Hi Terri,
Your daughter could really benefit from the term timing in NZ. We came to the UK from NZ and my son's birthday is 28 Aug had to go straight into year 7 coming from a primary in Wellington where he hadn't even earned his pen point (he was still using a pencil). Big culture shock for him. My oldest has gone to Uni in Wellington (it is hard him being 12,000 miles away) But he does have other family support and we fly him back twice a year.
NZ uni's do have a good reputation, fees depend on which courses and modules you choose. My son's were about $4,500.
Good luck with your move

liz , before we make a decision about emi to nz i want to find a good school that offers drama as an option for alice who will be in year 10 in sept. she has been recognised as gifted and talented in that area and i would hate for her not to follow this. however i'm having trouble locating a school that has a strong drama dept. i was wondering if you had any info at all that would help me.

Lots of the school web sites I have looked on all seem to be very much into drama, sports and music, which is fantastic for my kids as this is what they excel in. I have got separate references from my children's drama, sports and music teachers, both in and out of school and am hoping the new schools will (when I find one) take on board their talent's!
