Talking Easter in Wellington...

Hello everyone!

I am probably planning way too far ahead here but me and Paul are thinking about spending Easter in Wellington! We are massive fans of Wellington and are desperate to spend more time there.

I/we wondered if anyone would be interested in meeting up for a few drinks or whatever suits whilst we are there? We don't know anyone there so we thought it could make it more fun to do that and it would be nice to socialise.

We are planning to fly up there and maybe hire a car as it will be cheaper than the Interislander and fuel etc...

I hope to get some replies

Sho thang count us in! Any ideas on location? Are you coming with children? One Red Dog on the waterfront is a pretty nice place to go for a meal.

Hello Maz,

Yay our first reply!! Thanks!!!!

It will just be me and Paul, we have no children but have no objection to any coming along if anyone has them. We have only been to Wellington once and that was for 2 days but we just LOVED it!!!! We want to spend more time there so we have no idea on location, we were hoping for suggestions.

Might be a good idea to just go for drinks though or somewhere that does basic "English" meals lets say as I am a mega fussy eater and I don't want to embarrass myself! LOL

Stay in touch and we will organise it!!!

Alrighty sounds cool! Maybe a picnic at the Botanical Gardens? It's cheaper.

Anyway, will await where to show up and when.

Yay...I am getting very excited!

We booked the flights and everything yesterday so it is all confirmed. I was wondering if Sunday or Monday would be OK with people as we are landing into Wellington on Thursday but then we are driving up to Wanganui for a couple of nights and then coming back to Wellington. Our motel is going to be in Lower Hutt but we will drive into the city.

Shame we can't bring our chilly bin for the picnic!!! I doubt Air New Zealand will let me have that as hand luggage!

Let me know if Sunday or Monday is better. The more the merrier!!!! Also tell em where we are meeting as after spending only 2 days in Wellington I am no expert!

Either day is good for us, it being the Easter weekend and all.

Did you want to do a picnic at the Botanical Gardens? There's a massive play area there we could just let the kids run loose on.

The picnic sounds good!!! We won't be as kitted out as everyone else but we will bring some drinks and that will see us good, we just want to socialise. I am sure we will be able to find the gardens easy enough. I hope the weather will be good

I am looking forward to it, it will be nice to do something dofferent and meet more people!

What time do people want to meet? Also.... let's have a contingency plan in case it pisses down. (that never happens of course )

Well me and Paul are going to be around anyway as we are staying in Lower Hutt so will drive into the city in the morning so it is up to you local folk to be honest, whatever suits you guys Shall we say around lunchtime or is that too early for you all?

Not sure about a plan if it rains...we are happy to do whatever! I know a pub is out the question as some of you are bringing children so you guys will have to let me know about that.

I can PM you my mobile number if you want it for the day just incase?

Hi Stef,
I hope we can make it - we've some friends coming on Saturday night from the UK and I'm not sure yet if they are staying over or not. If not we'll see you there!
