Why would you want to do this? You can drive with you UK licence for up to a year...

Also, if you get caught after 1.5yr or 2yr - How will they know you "have been driving" since you got here...

I drive cars @ work on a daily basis & the insurance covers me too, even my French licence...

Plus, you dont want to attract xtra attention on your case... You're here on hols, leave it as this...

I should have been a bit clearer sorry mate, I can not work over there due to the visa and i am involved in heavy plant machines so whilst i may have 3 month off i thought i would have a go at my HGV but i will need a kiwi licence to go thru there system

A, it wouldnt do any harm in my job

B, i will be bored shitless sitting about

C, have always fancied doing it

Worked on the railways for years quite high pressure just fancy driving about and chillin (i know there is more to it than that)

Neil

bonjour

I got my kiwi licence whilst I was over here on a visitor's permit around this time last year. I had been granted PR but hadn't got the stickers or paid the migrant levy so officially still a visitor. I wanted and needed some kiwi proof of address. I can't remember what I needed as proof to get a licence though...sorry, it seems like such a long time ago now. Just to say that it is possible
