Quite spectacular
Hardest part was peeling the dog off me head every time there was a thunder clap

That was my elderly cat for the first time.
Those storms give me a rotten headache so I knew it was heading our way.
This time I switched off the power to the house as last time it fried our TV.

I have never had a problem with any of my dogs and thunder. But, I had a neighbor with a German Shepherd - there was a clap of thunder and the dog crashed through the closed glass ranch-slider, cleared the balcony handrail and fell about thirty feet into the bush below - wasn't seen again for three days. Mind you, in the Waitakeres, you were sometimes IN the thunderstorm - quite exciting once you got used to it. My dog and the German Shepherd were deadly enemies. Don't know why. They were both the same size and both males, so I guess it was a competition thing. It was a real mission stopping them attacking each other.
