Default Dog to NZ on visa?

I'm NZ citizen and wanting to move to NZ with my British girlfriend. She wants to bring her dog with her. Shitzu Maltese. Predominantly Maltese so he isn't snub nosed.
She's worried about not being able to bring him in on a visa. I am dual passport. Looking to get her in on Defacto or unmarried partnership visa.
Any idea if being on a visa hinders bringing a dog in?

as long as she qualifies to gain a visa then there will be no problem with her bringing the dog, unless its banned - checked the lists.
Please be aware it takes time as the dog would need tests and checks and injections and retests before it would be cleared to fly out. - check that out

Yeah we have checked breeds. He's fine as nose isn't snubbed, which helps with shipping. Yeah planning to move in January, 6 months of vets and what not.

Also, the 6 months , 10 days is in NZ quarantine at least. What about the other 5 months? Doesn't have to be in UK quarantine does it? Can have it at home with vets checking him out and stuff right ?

If there is any issue with the dog just import it in your name as you are a citizen - simples! :-)

6 months before travel isn't quarantine. They have blood tests and checks through the vets that have to be done over this time. So your dog would be with you as normal.
