does anyone know/recommend a decorator
 

in the Porirua/Pukerua Bay/Kapiti coast area?. just need one wall papering at the moment but could require other stuff in the future

Saul Maintenance and Construction have a good painter and decorator. They are in Wanganui, you could phone them to see if they come out that far. They also have other excellent tradesmen. They have done the majority of the upgrade work in my house.

From personal experience, I'd recommend a tradesman who is a master or member of a registered trade body.
A personal recommendation went completely tits up, and a mate in the pub passed me that handy tip when he heard who we'd used. I WILL be bearing it in mind in the future.
We got better results doing work ourselves with help from mates as we had a vested interest in the quality of the job.

personally - and being "in the trade" so to speak a registered trade body in NZ is interested in just one thing, membership fees. :eek:

I can give you the contact details of a bloody good decorator in Palmy if you want, perhaps he'll go south - I don't know

thanks but for one wall of papering at the moment wouldn't be worth his while. And agree with Registered Trade members as had problems with a builder in the UK and their Registered Trade Company wasn't interested and it ended up in court so don't pay much heed to those sort of things.
