Do you make New Year's Resolutions?
I made one last year. I made it in mid-February, after already having kept it from the previous Christmas. It was to not eat any (meat) burgers or hot dogs. Veggie burgers are OK.
I slipped one single time. I went to see Shakira with a friend in August, and had a hot dog at the venue in Chicago. D'Oh!
Since then, zero. When I've had burgers, they've been veggie burgers. No more "lips and assholes" (to quote the film "The Great Outdoors") for me!
How about you?

My brother-in-law took up smoking again recently. I took him aside yesterday after Xmas Day dinner and implored him to please think about giving up again. He gave up cold turkey about 7 years ago, and had done really well since then. We were all really disappointed when he started up again so I appealed to his better nature. Fingers crossed.

I make one every year. Never eat veg
I only eat Halal chicken. Not for religuos reasons but because it tastes sooo much better than the crap from Asda, Tesco ect. Try it, its also cheaper
And any red meat I get from a local farm shop. That tastes better also. And this I get really cheap cos the woman in there fancies me. My missus wont go cos it costs too much so she send me in

Last year I made 2......
and funny enough both have turned out OK.
1st was stop smoking. Here we are on the 27th of December a year later and I AM a non-smoker. I had a small falling down in May but picked myself up and started again. I count it as a full year as it never became the habit it originally was and if I can get through the stress of emigration and all the drinking that goes with it, I can stay stopped. WELL DONE ME! It is the longest I have ever stopped and I saw a hypnotherapist this time so I am cured.....keep taking my clothes off in public and quacking but hey, I don't smoke!
2nd was get my act together and start working towards emigration. Where do we live now? Hamilton. NZ not Scotland, so that one worked too. So WELL DONE ME again.
Do I dare set any this year? Watch this space!

I need to stop swearing totally!!! Was driving the other day and swore in front of my 3 year old and he just copied exactly what I said.
Other than that I'll need to get fit again after my operation in 2 weeks time... I expect I'll have some mummys tummy to get rid of.
Thats enough for now.

We're both going to stop smoking. We read the Alan Carr book a few years ago and were off them for 13 months so we know we can do it. There's no point trying if both of us don't stop together and it's easier for me than it is for hubby but he wants to put the money saved into his stock car so he's got a big incentive.

Do I do resolutions? Well, you've heard the scare-mongering investment ninnies warble, "Those who fail to plan plan to fail".
So here's to all who are just getting by -- to another year of muddling through.
Cheers! *burp*
