Dirty whites.
I am sure you all know the NZ rugby team call themselves the All Blacks. The americas cup boat was black magic. The cricket team is the black caps, the basketball team is the tall blacks, the darts team is the blackboards (ok I made that one up, but the rest is true)
I was listening to radio Live on the way to work and the chairman of the badminton association came on and said that they had been calling the NZ badminton team the black cocks for a long time now. Someone had recently pointed out to him that this could have a second meaning, and so he now thought it was inappropriate and he was asking for new suggestions. My first thought was they should call themselves the purple helmets and be done with it, but no, he was being serious.
For those of you who might be having trouble thinking of a second meaning, I think he was referring to shuttlecocks. How he missed the first meaning, I have no idea.
Maybe the darts team should be the black shafts. Anyway, I think these kiwis aren't PC enough, I think they should call the rugby team the All Off-whites.

I always thought they called the soccer team the all whites, cos they were embarrassed about how well they do internationally, and didn't want to spoil their black campaign. Maybe if they start to do well, they will change to black and call themselves the ball blacks.

very funny. Don't they have a tiddlywink team called the Black Flicks or something along those lines? my son pointed this out to me when we were there.. said "mum, why is everything called Black this and that?"

Yeah, black this and black that in the name of their sports teams is quite helpful. Although I wasn't sure why their cricket teams was called the BLACK CATS unles it was for luck, until hubby corrected me ....they are the BLACK CAPS !!
