Thumbs down delays with medical results

Hi guys, another rant on its way- We had our medicals nearly 3 weeks ago now, they asked for further info from my GP as I had a DVT in March. Sent all the info that the GPs had off, so assumed that we'd hear from the Medical Drs soonish. I still hadnt heard from them, so rang them up to find that they were still waiting for paperwork I am now trying to sort out info from my specialist- they sent me a cover note that I had requested explaining my case- giving wrong/ misleading information= MORE DELAYS I am only waiting for my medical results, then I can submit my ITA.
What I'm asking advise on is whether the Drs doing the medicals will send the results direct to me, or to Immi? Can I take it that if they send the results to me that we are medically clear to go?
Any advice would be great

Hi Alifox,
we were asked to collect our medical results from the GP who did them and then forward them ourselves, they came in sealed envelopes but no-one said we couldn't look at them. We got ours in just over a week, I would keep phoning the dr who needs to send the additional info to hurry him along, or speak to his receptionist or practice nurse and see if they can help.

Ours took 3 weeks to come back and that was with no issues...but I got into the habbit of phoning everyday ...they got really cheesed off and the receptionist said right I will drive over to the clinic (blood results they were waiting for) and pick them up myself...and she did! Just keep pestering them!

We collected ours 1 week later from the Doc. Posted the lot together ourselves. The med stuff was all sealed & we we told not to open the envelope, apparently immigration can say that it's been tampered & altered if it's not sealed.

Hi

We were also told not to open envelope which contained our forms but Dr did put covering letter in saying everything fine.

We were told also that if you open them you have to apply for new copies in sealed envelope which would cause more delays.:curse:

hope this helped

We had ours done in May. Got the results after a week and picked up the completed forms from the panel doctor. Our envelopes weren't sealed and we were told by our emigration consultant to check through all the paperwork carefully and if there were any omissions (like doctor not signing top of each page) to take them back and get them corrected otherwise it would hold up our application as Immigration would only send them back to be corrected. There were several omissions such as these on ours. We were also told to take photocopies of the medicals before sending to immigration for our WTR applications, which we did. Didn't have any problems from Immigration about this and WTR visas and passports came back within a week.

Hi Lee,

Good luck with the application - we know what the delays in medicals can cost - the lab just failed to test one of MrsL's samples of blood, not even an explanation just a "come back and give another sample" from the medical centre the requisite 10 dyas later!!
That delay resulted in additional work/family/student visas being required and a stoppage on our shipping, etc etc. We got here in the end though!
BTW, say bye to Cov for me - we used to live near Ryton. LL

My medical said I was fat,ugly,loud,drunk,stupid,insensitive,monkey-like in stature,as well as being amazingly unhuman-like with 13 toes, high cholesterol, not enough hair, incapable of digesting solids-and I still got here, albeit in another human's body,so don't worry too much cos it'll happen soon, and you'll lose your hair too.

Sorry-supposed to be making dinner, but trying to avoid!!

It wasn't the medical that said that it was me, love.

Can you class going to the chippy as "making dinner?"

Nice one gang- I don't know what I'll do in NZ without mushy peas from the chppy- theyre my vegetable part of my diet!!
I have finally sorted the last bit of info out today for the medical Drs. I hope to get a call this week to get me to pick the medical results up, so I've done as much as I can do from my front
