dazed & confused
Hi
Just a quickie (1st time nerves). Me & the old boy have been here in NZ (Wakefield, Tasman) for over 3 years & we're still not sure if we want to stay. Not sure if we want to go back to Blighty either though, but the longer we stay here, the less likely we'll be able to (financially). We love the laid-back life, but find the lower standard of living quite hard to accept. Most people we know (Kiwi & Brits) are struggling to get ahead, what with low wages (sunshine rates) & high cost of living. At what point do you throw in the towel & admit defeat? Luckily there are no children to uproot, just 2 Victor Meldrews & a shed load of stuff to re-pack. Anyone out there feeling the same? Are you planning to leave NZ & try somewhere else?
cheers

Hi there,
Well no one could say you haven't given it a good go - 3 years is a decent amount of time. If you're still not making ends meet you need to do something I guess - either return home, get better paid jobs somewhere else in the country or look at moving to another country.
Perhaps you could explore all three options and see which one comes off, good luck with whatever you decide to do
