As for Christchurch in June, July and August, brrrr...bring your woolies. Oh yeah, 'cos a lot of the older places still use outdated wood burners and 'cos Christchurch has these occasional inversion layers during winter, the city has the aroma of a campfire. But anyway, a rain usually comes along or a big wind and and the skies are scrubbed clean.
Welcome to Christchurch.

We're going through the same as you. I've only just started posting on this forum (been reading for a while).
I've had so much help already! Even though I'm new - I hope I can help you too!

Hi you newbies.
Get stuck into the posting. It's fun , helpful and its good to talk and know there are people out there same as yu.
We came to New Zealand three years ago this June, so I would echo about packing those thermals and woolies. Get yourselves a rental with a wood burner or a heat pump to keep the chill off & take advantage of the ski season down there. your kids will love it.
When it comes to shipping your stuff, bring everything you can with you. Everything ! All of It ! Stuff the container to the gunnlels and if you think there will be spare space, fill it with something useful to you.
