just need to sort out the incredibly dangerous Chinese motorists now, I bought a Vespa before moving here and I've decided not to use it because of this very reason.

Defensive driving gets you stuck in traffic, aggressive driving is what you need.

We've still got to suffer the calamity of turning left until march though

When it goes I'm going to take a flask and a deck chair to a busy junction and enjoy the fun and confusion.

The current rule is ridiculous, but can you imagine kiwi drivers adapting to this overnight?

Scary

About time, but yes it will bring chaos for a while

The current rule is just absurd. And, having driven in about 70 countries, I'm not sure the story is quite telling the full truth when it says "bring the rule into line with most of the Western World". I think they mean "bring the rule into line with everywhere else in the universe".

not if you weld a bar onto your steering rack and stop your car from turning left......but then you'd have the problem when you came to the junction from the other direction, wondering if the other guy will give way to you.

Having said that the Yanks seem to be unable to organise roads with four-way stop signs that appear at first sight to be totally crazy, then seem to be possibly understandable until you read this:

I really, really want a vespa, if your not using it, such a shame to leave it sitting unloved!!
After 11 years of being away from NZ I had forgotton just how bad the driving here is. What is an indicator (kiwi for optional extra)

I'm selling it if you're interested, a bloke at work was meant to be buying it but he's in hospital having surgery on his leg so I don't think he will be. It's parked up inside here at work if you'd like to come and see it.
