Film reviews..... I hear Transformers is superb. Surely not. Can anyone verify-and was Harry Potter any good-marks out of 10 for both.

Best film ever?

I thought Transformers was brilliant! Switch off your brain at the door and enjoy the effects, explosions, car chases, robot fights, explosions, funny scenes, explosions, Megan Fox, and did I mention the explosions?

9.5/10 IMHO

Harry Potter 9/10. I'm not a real Harry junkie just go cos my son is. I thought it was the most enjoyable one out of all of them though. I still have the same opinion though for this and the others - half an hour too long.

I won't be seeing Transformers and feel lucky that my kids aren't nagging me to see it either Don't think I'll get out of Fantastic 4. Is that any good and will it matter if we haven't seen the others?

Latest Harry Potter 7/10
Didn't seem to have much of a theme to it. Just Harry looking all intense and grumpy a lot of the time. Special effects were good, just not much of a story.

Saw Pirates of the Caribean 3 yesterday - better than the second film. 8/10
Will try and see Harry Potter tomorrow and the rating will come in due course.
Shrek 3 funny in parts but certainly not as good as 1 and 2 - 6/10

My son got me Shaun of the Dead for my birthday so watched it on Thursday - excellent. Saw Hot Fuzz last month and that was great too (by the same people), good pommy humour, lots of bits we were the only ones laughing in the cinema - apart from some other poms at the back.

Ha ha funny you should mention Top Gun, my daughter (16) and I watched it a few nights ago. Had to get some hankies for her to stop drooling lol. Oh, and me too. Watched Cocktail yesterday - love that too.

Has anyone seen the Sweetest Thing with Cameron Diaz? Great chick flick and one of my favs.

Not had pleasure of seeing HP but looking forward to it.

Another great recent film, Snow Cake - Sigourney Weaver - she plays a great part.

Well, slightly ashamed I admit to avoiding NZ TV by watching the following DVDs:

House Series 1 and 2
Enterprise Series 3 and 4
Walk the Line
and most recently the pure heresy of:
The Lord of the RIngs (all 8 DVDs of the Extended Editions) over a week

the kids have been wearing out:
Bob the Builder
Mr Men (original series and French MrM/Little Miss)
Mr Ben
The Herbs
Various animations (Robots, Nemo, Shreks, Toy Stories, etc)
Roobarb & Custard
Camblewick Green, Trumpton and Chigley

We are about to line up Battlestar Galactica (21st Century!) with Pilot, S1 and S2 if we can agree that we will watch all of it before S3 appears on DVD in September.....
Sad or what!!!!111111111

Little Miss Sunshine - 10/10 love it love it love it.
The Departed - 9/10

Has anyone seen The History of Violence. such a good film but not many people seem to have seen it. Would love to know what anyone else thought.

Also love Blues Bros and American Warewolf.

And if anyone can get hold of Shut Up & Sing which is the film about The Dixie Chicks, about what happened to them in the States after their comment about Bush, I would thoroughly recommend it. It is a great film and totally unbelievable!

Didnt like this harry Potter as much as the last one 6/10 for me.
