Counselling Jobs!

Our closest friends and relatives are starting to think of NZ as a possibility with regards to setting up a new life and way of living. Can anyone please give us any information on whether or not Counselling jobs are in demand over there? Its very hard to gain information on this subject over here no matter how much you search for it.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Counselling Jobs!

Your first port of call should be the New Zealand Immigration website. Please click the bold type to access the link.
The occupation is ANZSCO 2721

Counsellor does not appear to be on either the Immediate Shortage list or the Long Term shortage list at the present time.

this means that should yur neighbour find a job offer in this occupation , then the NZ employer will have to prove there is no suitable NZ resident or citizen candidate that could take that job.

Your neighbour may wish to contact the Counsellors NZ association which I found using google.

Re: Counselling Jobs!

My wife just passed last year in counselling, and has yet to find full time work in that area, there are heaps of Mental health issues that need counsellors and you might want to try the Churches as they seem to run a lot of Mental health centres.

Also there is a counselling gov body over here, try them, if i rem i will try and get their address.
