I'm no IT specialist but it don't take long for the COVID scanning tech to get up and running, they have the technology and you can already log in and view your record here and request a letter if needed: https://app.covid19.health.nz/
One must remain optimistic that we will be freed before Christmas in order to protect the much famed Kiwi civil right to a good summer, or there will be a riot.

The matter is before the courts but it's likely to come down to the ability of government to show it's actions where both lawful and reasonable but the imposition of measures for nearly two years the Crown will need an excellent defence as they can hardly argue this is temporary.

Well thought our days of bingo numbers had gone for good, I’d guess it’s temporary, but 3 out the last 4 days are back in bingo land.

If Christchurch is thrown into lockdown (which is likely based on what the minister is not saying) more than half of New Zealand's population living under lockdown measures.
Last chance to hit the highway out of town on holiday? Announcement at 1pm.

I was very pro the closed border policy for that first year but, in retrospect, MIQ was probably never legal and I suspect New Zealand may end up being forced to pay substantial restitution for making it's citizens effectively stateless.

If we're going to live with Delta, there will be no changes to alert levels down here. Although I am a bit annoyed that they haven't even been bothered to track their movements whilst down here since we spent Saturday and Monday in the city (note according to press reports)

Rather inappropriate, like the ‘Auckland your so close’ the condescending praise last week
if only it was so! 11 weeks in, and still not clue as to when this lockdown ends.
Auckland’s over 90% single jabbed, 77% double, but as it is last man standing, god knows when that will be, with Manukau still shy at 88% of single dose, before the minimum 3 weeks to get a second dose.
We’re not being held to ransom by anti vaxers or lazy, but more by the PM and govt targets, communicated in week 10 of lockdown
as businesses who last traded 11 weeks ago continue to suffer.
Certainly Wellington all isolated from the depression, and by PM apparently more likely to visit Europe than see the happy citizens here.
Meanwhile this week saw Hamilton and West Waikato gain the Level 3 Stage 1 picnic & privileges, and probably get lumped with us looking forward to mirage of a red traffic light!
Actually nice to see the two cases in Christchurch today, and that there was no immediate L3 or even god forbid a L4 circuit breaker, which no doubt will have upset the lockdown lovies. Christchurch is seeing its first cases with 89% first and 68% second dose, unlike Auckland at barely 20% and sitting ducks in August.
However difficult to see why the double jabbed at those rates above top, can’t be enjoying some privileges!

Do you have faith in the courts?

Re: Coronavirus
I think we've taken a wrong turn with travel restrictions, vaccine passports, "no jab, no job", vaccinating children etc. Latest research from Imperial College, London has shown that vaccination does not reduce the spread of the disease. That makes all those measures pointless, they would be purely punitive measures.
Edit to add: Lancet article is here for those wanting more details.

Re: Coronavirus
Poor Tonga
Just as we were planning on opening up quarantine free travel to many of the Pacific Islands next month, someone from Christchurch has given them the virus. Double vaccinated going what reports say.

Seems the case arrived in Tonga before a case was identified down here as well. Begs the question, how long has this virus been down here? Thank goodness no decision makers are listening to the "experts" yet.
Still love your bubble, be kind, team of 5 million etc.
