Re: Coronavirus
I'm ever the optimist, I have that airline credit again!
The upside is spending time with adult kids and now I'm an enrolled nurse, so I don't muck around!
It's mid September, may as well wait till after Xmas and new year, I would have gone to Oz for xmas anyway.
Nz isn't going anywhere, but hard on so many I know in NZ as well who can't see loved ones.

Gubbermint seems to be angling to slow the border reopening and change proposed rules it announced a few weeks back. However they've been most insistant about the elimination strategy remaining in place.
I'll believe it'll work when I see it. It seems absolutely certain to me this will become endemic and then we'll all forget about it and move on with living our lives.

I'm actually ok with that but I can understand the frustrations of those who need to leave for personal reasons.

So now we've had to plea with other countries for their Pfizer supply
But, the comedy circus said we had plenty for everyone?

Wait a minute, about the Astra Zeneca?

Makes sense, I'm glad you're getting Novavax too. It will be interesting to see how they're going to work out the timing of the combined influenza and Coronavirus vaccine, assuming that flu seems to have more seasonal peaks.

The daily press conferences are the gift that keeps on giving - first we had Hipkins and the 'Spread your legs' faux pas and now we hear that sex between hospital visitors and patients is a 'high risk activity' , potentially.

Re: Coronavirus
It'd be a high risk activity if Matron caught them at it
I wish Oz's press conferences were as entertaining as yours!

Quote " I would say, generally, regardless of the Covid status, that kind of thing shouldn't generally be part of visiting hours, I would have thought," Ardern added."

In the daily self congratulation and sneering podium sessions no mention that despite this supposedly ‘world leading vaccine roll out’ , we’ve only this month moved one off the bottom of the OECD standings in % double jabbed, above Costa Rica and in sight of Mexico, with Spain lending us some vaccines to ensure we don’t run out.
With the Aussies committed to opening up with 70/80% fully vaccinated, it’s difficult to see how we can hold out any different.
