Re: Coronavirus
I saw that article today about the mass vaccination centre in Auckland struggling to find people to vaccinate, it said that less than 25% of people took it up but I wonder if that's just confusion about eligibility? If someone sent me an e-mail about Covid-19 vaccinations I probably wouldn't read it either because I've not in a target age demographic.

Re: Coronavirus
The Vodaphone vaccination in Auckland covers all students their families, staff and faculty members and then it has been expanded to Mฤori and Pacific and people in South Auckland , at the last look over 16,000 have booked.

Re: Coronavirus
The whole thing is so low key it's ridiculous
I got mine done through work but I have received absolutely nothing from anyone informing me, an almost 60 year old male, when I am eligible for and where I should go for a vax. There are plenty who are older than me, who may not have cell phones or t'internet who are through no fault of their own slipping through the net.. there needs to a degree of urgency about this and a much much improved public information service. All this pretending we're ok because the borders are shut is getting us nowhere

They call the telephone number.
How about helping those folks out. Community spirit and all that.
You might be surprised just how many oldies do the internet though.
Honestly. I am surprised how some seem to want to be molly coddled on this. You stir the stumps , get the bum off the seat and sort yourself , or someone that needs help , out. It isn't hard

Re: Coronavirus
All seems to depend upon where you live and how well your local DHB has got its act together; but for sure now it's pretty clear as of yesterday that anyone 60+ doesn't need to wait for a call. I heard it was the busiest day ever today for bookings since the call to action and advertising on TV commenced yesterday for anyone 60+ able to jump online or all the 0800 number to make appointments from today. On the radio news they said online appointment slots were filling up pretty rapido with times and dates available one second and all vanished the next.
Husband got a letter in the mail also today with all the deets of what, where, when and how, so they are covering all bases with advertising, mail drops etc.

Re: Coronavirus
NZ people are so luck and having true benefits now. I'm from US and going through trauma due to this Covid pandemic and here the people still not believing in masks. We lost millions but cousin is staying in Auckland and would say most safest place in the world now.
