If someone sent me an e-mail about Covid-19 vaccinations I probably wouldn't read it either because I've not in a target age demographic.

It's not one of the permanent mass vaccination centres, that is just one of those sort term roadshow type events that they are doing to capture some large groups all at one time, as they have been doing in some larger workplaces - I bet they will get a lot of hopeful folks just turn up at the door.

The Vodaphone vaccination in Auckland covers all students their families, staff and faculty members and then it has been expanded to Mฤori and Pacific and people in South Auckland , at the last look over 16,000 have booked.

The whole thing is so low key it's ridiculous
I got mine done through work but I have received absolutely nothing from anyone informing me, an almost 60 year old male, when I am eligible for and where I should go for a vax. There are plenty who are older than me, who may not have cell phones or t'internet who are through no fault of their own slipping through the net.. there needs to a degree of urgency about this and a much much improved public information service. All this pretending we're ok because the borders are shut is getting us nowhere

I phoned the 0800 28 29 26 number and fast-tracked myself and then OH. We are both in Group 3, I have advised other friends to do the same. I don't trust the call up system, so chose to pre-empt it.

They call the telephone number.

How about helping those folks out. Community spirit and all that.

You might be surprised just how many oldies do the internet though. ;)

Honestly. I am surprised how some seem to want to be molly coddled on this. You stir the stumps , get the bum off the seat and sort yourself , or someone that needs help , out. It isn't hard

All seems to depend upon where you live and how well your local DHB has got its act together; but for sure now it's pretty clear as of yesterday that anyone 60+ doesn't need to wait for a call. I heard it was the busiest day ever today for bookings since the call to action and advertising on TV commenced yesterday for anyone 60+ able to jump online or all the 0800 number to make appointments from today. On the radio news they said online appointment slots were filling up pretty rapido with times and dates available one second and all vanished the next.

Husband got a letter in the mail also today with all the deets of what, where, when and how, so they are covering all bases with advertising, mail drops etc.

NZ people are so luck and having true benefits now. I'm from US and going through trauma due to this Covid pandemic and here the people still not believing in masks. We lost millions but cousin is staying in Auckland and would say most safest place in the world now.

Closing out the rest of the world for over a year isn't lucky.
We could be being a lot luckier if the govt had got it's shit together and not completely mismanaged the vaccine roll out
