Re: Coronavirus

Johnson&Johnson announce their vaccine has finished trials, bit of an issue though because it's only 66% effective.

Given New Zealands aim of remaining Coronavirus free when borders reopen perhaps another vaccine would be more suitable for our purposes?

Good to see that the rather annoying #dosomethingnewNZ campaign is having such great success and getting folks out and about on their holibobs.

Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins:
"I didn't enquire specifically into the nature of the encounter, but the fact it was a 20-minute encounter, it was long enough for me to be unacceptable."

A lot of long walks, cold showers and early nights in the Hipkins household then?

I was quite pleased to see that it looks like this sort of thing had been anticipated by the MIQ management, they were prepared for it and dealt with it straight away.

So that makes me hopeful that we won't see the same MIQ leaks here that they saw in Melbourne. Here's hoping.

We have no need to make the same mistakes as other people, we should be failing onwards in new and creative ways.

Well in her defence they do say the first sign of Coronavirus is people losing their taste.

Now he's not busy might as well cash-in by penning it for PornHub so they can stage a reconstruction of events. For...sociological purposes and that.

Makes my single life look very boring in comparison....

I need to stop making jokes about these things, I think humour is keeping me slightly sane..😁

Compounding this, early results from the UK indicate that just the first shot of the OxfordUniversity/AstraZeneca vaccine is 76% effective. In other worst there is no scenario in which the Johnson&Johnson vaccine would be the preferred option. Time to dump it and go with Plan B.

OK, time to get out the board games and cards again. New lockdown.

To be fair though we've been lucky given we've had quite a few close calls with the virus escaping containment but not spreading much further. Lucky it's summer, as we saw the cooler weather seems to increase the rate if transmission.

I donned my mask, braved the lashing winds and persistent rain expecting a nightmare situation at the supermarket this arvo but all was calm, hardly a soul in there and all the shelves were well stocked.

This one is only three days, most people will probably just order a pizza instead of braving the supermarket.

No doubt KFC drive-throughs will be doing a roaring trade, providing essential services to the nation.

And all of Auckland now facing up to the harsh reality of kids being back to school and Mum and Dad having to go back to work tomorrow at work at the end of the third long weekend in a row.

I guess a lot of people will be just waking up to the surprise Level 3 lockdown this Sunday morning and wishing they had stayed in bed. I had no clue, totally missed the news and the phone alert last night.
