Container shipping times....?

Container shipping times....?
we've had 3 quotes and not much between them, except the length of time for the container to arrive at our new destination.
I'm just wondering how long people have found their wait to be, in comparison to the company's claim. are they just vague estimations? or is it a good basis to choose which container company to hire.
we have quotes from Pickfords, John Mason and PSS.
PSS come middle for price, but say they will have our contents in our new home in 6-7 weeks. (the other 2 say around 8-10 weeks)

Hi
6-8 wks is about right, ours left on the 18th December and arrived on the 10th Feb....what they don't tell you is how long it can get delayed in customs sometimes by MAF! ..ours was 2 wks but thats our experience not everyones
Also it's worth looking into getting your insurance from letton percival rather then the actually shipping company has it can work out cheaper (we saved £500 doing this). We also didn't pay the MAF cost they add in and decided to pay this ourselves as we were told that all shipping companies will charge you worst case senario when mostly the cost from MAF is not that bad...hope that makes sense

We used John Mason and our container took around 11 weeks door to door. Most container ships do not sail directly to NZ so this and weather conditions can affect time taken to arrive. 8-12 weeks is about average.
Also, on a side note John Mason matched the insurance quote we had from Letton Percival, so we insured with JM in the end. HTH

Robinsons were prepared to match the insurance quote from letton Percival to RobDon....have no idea why other half still choose to go with them on that basis though

It all depends on whether or not your container is 'forgotten' or 'overlooked' or merely left- for 5 weeks on Antwerp docks!
It was a right regal affair!

We used Barnes of Lincoln. Cheaper by 100's to the rest and arrival time was exact. The only delay was customs clearance and delivery by the local agent. 5 days of delay in all. Well worth the wait!
20ft box = £3700 with insurance

Our container is now in NZ but it is still awating MAF inspection and delivery. Once this is done it will have taken 15 weeks.
