Default Civil engineering jobs Chch

Hi all

I know how difficult it can be to find real career opportunities in NZ particularly when using recruitment consultants. My husband looked for roles for months, being promised roles existed but then never getting any actual interviews. It turned out alot of the bigger companies are just refusing to pay the fees set by recruiters. In the end, I found him an opportunity by searching and ringing comapnies direct on his behalf (as he was obviously working full time in the UK)

He was recruited by a global engineering consultancy in Chch. We have now been living in Chch for 2 months. The company are just having a brand new office block built and now want to build a bigger team in Chch and are looking for 5 Structural Engineers and a Water Supply Modeller. I worked in corporate development in the UK but have been unable to find work here so I offered to try and help them find interested engineers (no fees involved - I am just doing this to help my husband and his manager build their team here, [BBut please note I am not a recruiter or agency so I cannot guarantee anything.[/B])

They are looking for degree qualified junior to intermediate engineers with around 2-6 yrs experience who have an interest in learning to specialise in earthquake engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers wanting to develop their careers in Chch and if successful the company offers relocation packages and great salaries. They also provide settlement services which we found to be very helpful.

So if you are struggling to find suitable real opportunities, please PM me and I will give full details of the company and criteria for application.

OIC?

I've never had much luck with recruiters here either, can't really explain why.

Hi yes they do need a degree qualification I think these are ie Ceng, Beng, BSC(Hons) in engineering. My husband has a BSC(Hons). They are looking for junior to intermediate level but I think they will consider people with more experience particularly in earthquake related projects.

Thats the best I can give - as I said I am not a recruiter just a housewife trying to help my husband!! Anyone who is interested I will give the details and they can email their CVs straight to my husband, if they are interested they will ring people direct.

They will relocate people from overseas, thats how we got here. The company provides a comprehensive package including relocation expenses and a relocation consultant for suitable candidates.
