How are you? I was only thinking yesterday how I don't see the people from 2006-7 posting very often.

Re: Citizenship timing 2012
Has anyone applied for NZ citizenship this year?
I was wondering what the waiting time for acceptance and then the citizenship ceremony is?
We are hoping to submit the forms in October and looking at holiday travel in the new year. I have read the old posts on BE that passports are taken so not to plan travel for 6 months?
Any recent experiences with this please share
Thanks

Re: Citizenship timing 2012
Well..... after 9 years of living here, tomorrow the 4 of us will be citizens.
It took about 4 weeks for the paperwork and then about 6 weeks waiting for the next ceremony.
I am really looking forward to the ceremony and becoming a Real Kiwi.

My friends in Wellington received their congratulations letter 3 weeks after application but have to wait 3 months for the ceremony.

Thanks everyone.
Yesterday was a fantastic day, as Rob, our 2 daughters and I received our citizenship from the Mayor of Rotorua.

Re: Citizenship timing 2012
Just got the date for our ceremony and all in all it will be exactly 2 months and 5 days from the day we submitted our paperwork to the day we officially become kiwis. So not bad at all. Looking forward to the 20th August
