I think NZ is slow to get it's Christmas things in the shops compared to Britain. Can't believe they wait until as 'late' as September to even get their shelves stocked with things for Christmas. It dawned on me this year that they wait for NZ Fathers Day, in September, to be out of the way before they start the Christmas build up. I was concerned last year that there would not be any Christmas crackers but I needn't have worried as I got some from the supermarket. There were other stockists too.
I was worried that I could not find a joint of ham to cook for Christmas as they are all precooked here (how lame). Anyway, I bought a pre-cooked ham joint, glazed it, roasted it, ate it and it was delicious.

Not all in one go I hope.
Husband's employer gives us a ham each Christmas . We live off the thing over the holiday period.

I hardly think about Christmas until I've got passed OH's birthday. It's a BIG 0 one this year that just happens to fall in the same week as my exams, so that should be fun.
I love the laid-back approach to Christmas in New Zealand, infinitely better than the UK alternative IMHO.
