I can't help but feel a little disappointed at the opening of the time capsules found in Christchurch after the earthquake.

It seems there were just newspapers dating back to 1918, 1922 and 1933.

I don't know what I was hoping for to be honest - I guess just something a little more imaginative!

If you were to bury a time capsule today what would you include in it and why?

I would put in a list of what things cost today in terms of bills and mortgages, pictures of cold damp homes, my ipod, and a great description of what my phones and laptops do cause I am sure in 50 or so years technology as we know it will be way way better. Also I would put in schedules of how long it takes us to fly to the other side of the world cause I reckon on a time where it will be like "beam me up scottie!" and we will be there lol!!!!

I would fart in a can and seal it ............. that would give them something to talk about when they opened it

To be honest whoever put these things in there never expected them to be found so nothing of importance was put in.

I thought at the time without meaning to be flippant I think a note might have said.

"If you are reading this I think you could have had an earthquake"

I would copy the internet onto a hard drive and put that into it.

Think how they will see us standing at the dawn of the silicon age, the false prudence of ages before (sex, abortion, genetic modification etc.) falling like a chain of dominoes ushering in a new era. “The Industrial age: Part 2” if you like with some of the great civilisations of history (India, China, Russia etc.) coming once again to join the ranks of global superpowers in the new (the Americas) and reformed world (the European union of countries).
