Hello all!!

I'm looking to pick your brains about where is the cheapest or most cost effective way of getting my medicals done for immigration????

I live in Christchurch and am currently on a 6 month visitor visa.

I just browsed moorhouse medicals webiste and they said with them it will be $447 so just wanted to know if thats what I should expect to pay???

What a beauty! looks like the week ahead should be pretty nice.

Riccarton Clinic charge $453.70 in total for the medical, x-ray and blood tests, so looks pretty similar. Although there are plenty of others to choose from.

I had mine last week and went to the Immigration Medical Christchurch on Bealey Ave

Was $460 I think all in, that includes everything and had all results back the following day. Service was superb!

maybe its cause its Auckland - but Symond Street Medical Centre charge $250 and its all done and submitted electronically to immigration. That's for EVERYTHING.
Surely it can't be nearly double the price in the south island?

and i will back you up and say it is much better up north. Infact everyone should go there and leave me in peace on the mainland to be grumpy without interuption..

wow........... didn't think it would be so cheap up north!!!

possibly worth flying over to Auckland and back and it would still save me money!!!

It must be a Christchurch pricing issue? http://www.nzimed.co.nz/medical_centres/ Select Chch and the medicals work out at about $460 - are the prices fixed in Chch?

Symonds street medical (Auckland) as mentioned earlier quote $240 all inclusive on their site http://www.ssmc.co.nz/immigration%20medicals.htmland the link in the small print sends you back to http://www.nzimed.co.nz/ again.

Although after some more reading - looks like Symonds street haven't updated their site in a while and new immigration medical certificates were introduced in Aug 2012. These look pricier according to Capital medical in Wellingtonhttp://www.capitalmedical.co.nz/about/

Moral to this story - check with the medical practice that their prices reflect the new general medical certificate INZ1007 not the outdated cheaper medical.

Hinesh - pleased to hear it - hopefully it saves you money even with the flight. I think as Mark smith says - do double check the price is correct and for the up to date medical if they have changed it.

Christchurch prices are not fixed but its in the region of 447 - 460
