Re: Cheap flights to OZ...
I checked the Jetstar sale offers, and found that for example for in July, it's possible to get a return flight from Wellington to Singapore via Auckland for about 850 NZD (seat, cabin luggage +20 kg checked in luggage, meals have to be booked & paid separately). If you manage to find a reasonably priced flight onwards to Europe, this could be a fairly inexpensive option for anyone wanting to fly to the UK or elsewhere in Europe.

You could...but why would you want to? After all if you like an English speaking coastal city where it rains frequently without warning, houses are very small/expensive and has the occasional gust of wind...why would you want to come back from a warmer place with more/better paid jobs and exactly the same features? Completely baffling .
On a serious note I flew JetStar once, they have a sign about how you could save time by printing your own tickets etc. However it then turned out my plane was delayed an hour and a half for no explicable reason. Also I think their seats are narrower than Air NZ.

Also the base fare sounds cheap but when I looked into it for 3 adults and 1 kid to do Auckland- Sydney return over Easter with bags it was just over 1600 and yet I booked with Lan airlines through expedia for 1300 and it includes food, entertainment etc.

We've only flown with them once from Wellington to Auckland and couldn't fault them. It was a brand new plane with black leather seats. Why do they always quote "on way" fares, makes it look a good deal until you put in a return and added baggage etc
