Default Cheap Car Hire

Hi all

I'm looking for some cheap car hire this September. From what i've Googled there seems to be a few companies that hire older cars which are cheaper. Any recommendations

Cheers

We went to Christchurch in may and we used Apex, they pick you up from the airport and take you to get your car - only a couple of minutes away. They were quite cheap and we booked it all online no problems even able to put all your driver details in so you dont have to do it when you arrive and we had additional drivers at no extra cost.

We used "rent a dent" for a week or so car hire. they run a nationwide franchise operation with lots of smaller garages taking part.

$50 a day, so not bad.

Do check the condition of the tyres though. We had to take ours back.

Some operators are pretty cheap and cheerful for older models - depends on how fussy you are, plus lots of them are local to one city or another.

Where do you want to pick up from?

Not fussy at all. I will be driving around the South island on the first week, so picking up in ChCh and flying up to Auckland at the weekend and driving back but i will hire separately in Auckland.

Cheers

Can't speak for elsewhere as we pretty much always use Thrifty and they ain't quite in the same market, but we used the AEQ Rent-a-car for Auckland long term rental, who are part of ParkNFly
they were OK price-wise but the car was a bit dodgy on the braking front until I took it back and got that sorted.

www.parknfly.co.nz

good luck

We recently used

http://www.jucy.co.nz/

We got one of their older Nissan Pulsars, it was a bit bashed and scratched, but did the job and was the cheapest at the time.
