Well, I haven't been here that long but have had such a welcome (no, I'm not referring to the bloody big shaky one thanks! 
).
All the staff in Riccarton Mall that my husband knows call out 'she's finally here then!' when they see OH and me. The lady at the K Mart checkout took hold of my hand tody and said 'thank you for coming to New Zealand and ChCh' when she discovered I had arrived recently.
My son Sam has also brought home a calender from his boss at the golf course for me for Christmas and his other boss, who owns the local Fresh Choice, gave him a bottle of wine for me 'cos you've had a rough start'.
Just think it's really nice - everyone has been so friendly. Thank you people of Christchurch

K-Mart! I see you've found New Zealands version of Primark then. One word of advice as the partner has discovered, it's cheap for a reason. She would certainly recommend you do not buy underwear there
