http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cr...ting-to-police
but assaults per capita are higher in NZ than UK:

as there don't seem to be a great deal of street fighting, pub brawls, etc going on in NZ (that are reported or that I have seen) then maybe these assaults are happening somewhere else.......the home perhaps????

Go back 10 years and have a look at the 'winebox scandal' if you want to see how corrupt NZ really can be....
Nobody is biting on the Aus forums, regards NZ intelligence.
No surprise as, for all their many fine qualities, Australians have to be the most self centered bunch of thickos on the planet...

Re: Chauvinism in New Zealand Society
I do think...if people say that New Zealand is sexist and/or chauvinistic....they should at least let us know what countries NZ should aspire to.
In 2005 New Zealand became the only country in world history to have all the main political offices held simultaneously by females (Queen, Prime Minister, Governor, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House)...if that's a male-dominated country then I'd really like to know what the solution is.

Yeah, you're right I suppose (technically)..............

Looking at the Australian forums.....
They have six times the number of British Immigrants compared to NZ but SEVENTEEN times the number of posts on this website....and they don't even have proper Internet over there....
Conclusion: Australia must be quite dull...

internet can't be any worse that Telecom here??? ???
the TV must be better surely?
and the papers/ radio news might have something worth reading/listening to?
Do you listen the "Checkpoint" on the radio ? Ruddy Mary Wilson winds me up - poor man's John Humphries - and all the repeats of music slots on the local radio - I often end up driving several hundres ks in a day and can't find anything to relieve the boredom of mini-hits on the radio......
Luckily the mates at work bought me a nice 8Gb Nano as a leaving present, a lifesaver many times over! Thanks ladies and gents, its often near my heart

We get you dont like NZ, that you want to be in Aus, that your wife is stopping you, but dont take your bitterness out on NZ.
As for not taking advice from supposed better practice, the EXACT same thing happens over here when NZ'ers come to the UK, its just fact of life that what you are used to, you see as better.

Yes portraying men like this is funny once, but every night, it begins to seem like the truth , which is what they want, maybe
There is a good section in the Sunday Star Times for men each week http://www.stuff.co.nz/sundaystartimes/0a25961.html
I am with Avid with this one, in the government, the PM and 3 other top jobs are held by females, and the family laws are the most extreme pro-female in any country that i know. If anyone knows my situation , it is all due to this feminised jurisprudence which has been built up over the years since the 70s. Police and lawyers are all governed by the same feminist agenda which has brought large scale destruction to families and society in general by giving mother legal and financial incentives to eject fathers from their kids lives.
It is allowing legalised gold-digging in the divorce laws, what message is this sending to sons ? The kids are the ones that are suffering, because of it all
It is all social engineering by law, of course, of course women needed protecting from violent husbands and need equality in the work place
BUT IT ALL GONE TOO FAR, MEN HAVE TO FIGHT BACK ,
PS Don't you mean "MALE Chauvinism" ?

You make some good points Brussel, but I think these kind of things are common throughout the western world at the moment. Look at the Fathers for Justice campaign in the UK. These complex issues of gender identity are not reserved for the UK or NZ, but some on this board with an anti NZ agenda seem determined to make it so.

This thread's gone a tad off-topic hasn't it? I just want to know when Nerine is leaving these shores. She seems to have been leaving for an awfully long time now. I wonder if Oz is going to let her in?

Re: Chauvinism in New Zealand Society
Yes, i agree, they are common to 1st world nations, yes, but as i said, NZ family laws are quite extreme (and backward - although they think the opposite) compared to other such nations. The domestic violence laws feed themselves, women are simply using them to get custody of children and money in many many cases. Therefore the figures increase, the government provides more funds, say ooooh it is getting worse, more researchers will be recruited to say something has to be done, the lawyers and "court specialists" are never going to say no to more work and money. The women's lawyers tell the women how to make allegations of violence nd how to get custody and it goes round and round in greater and costlier circles.

They are funny, tongue in cheek ads. But thats just my "blokey" opinion. Otherwise I'll just leave it up to ALL you women on this thread to work out what is acceptable for me and my family to watch on tele.
