Default Changes to citizenship rules (end of three year)

If you are entitled to NZ citizenship under the 3 year rule, get your application in by 21 April 2010 as thereafter you'll need to wait for the 5 years.

cheers I think though that most who would be affected by that rule change might have been here for five years by now anyhow as the rules changed five years ago in april 2005 I think.

Not necessarily- you could have moved here before 2005 but your first few years might not meet the residence requirements for citizenship (ie you spent too much time overseas ping-ponging like me!).
